Former Ghana Football Association chairman Nyaho Tamakloe has criticized the current administration for re-admitting Asamoah Gyan into the Black Stars.

The astute football administrator believes a bad precedent has been set for players to decide when they want to play for the national team.

Gyan took a temporarily break from international football in February after Ghana's calamitous campaign at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations finals.

The Al Ain striker suffered a torrent of abuse from some fans after missing a penalty in the semi-final defeat to Zambia.

Last week, he rescinded his decision by claiming he had overcome the psychological pains.

The Ghana FA president Kwesi Nyantakyi issued a statement to congratulate the 26-year-old for ending his hiatus.

But Tamakloe has hit out at his successor for ratifying a bad practice.

"I'm shocked the FA has welcome Asamoah Gyan back particularly the FA president Kwesi Nyantakyi," Tamakloe fumed.

"And as for the coach I feel so sad for him because this is the situation he should have put his foot down and even tell the FA boss it was going to set a bad precedent for the other players.

"When Asamoah Gyan left, his position was filled by somebody so what has happened before he has decided to come back.

"The worst thing is that he is being welcomed back warmly by the FA itself particularly President Kwesi Nyantakyi. I can't understand that."

Tamakloe is renowned for his radical changes at Hearts of Oak in 1986 when he replaced the entire squad with youthful players.
