The Ghana FA president Kwesi Nyantakyi has stressed goalkeeper Razak Brimah deserves a Black Stars call-up.
The CD Guadalajara keeper is among a 26-man squad for the double header against Zambia and Japan in September after impressing in a 2-2 draw friendly with Turkey this month.
The FA boss believes the Spain-based gloves man deserves his second Ghana call-up since he possesses all the qualities of a fine shot-stopper.
“I am not a coach, but from what I saw [in the Turkey friendly] there was no need to ask the coach any questions about his [Brimah] call-up,” Nyantakyi told Joy FM. “He is twice my size and you could see he is a real man in the post.”
“Not only that, he threw the ball like a catapult to Asamoah Gyan on the other side of the pitch in getting the first of Ghana’s goals against Turkey. Not many goalkeepers can initiate an attack as he did and I think he deserved to be called again.”
He added: “He has been talked of a lot of times and the coaches have also been monitoring him for some time. They [Ghana coaches] got videos of him and all that before handing him his debut call to the Black Stars.
“He is a very good goalkeeper and I believe he will bring healthy competition to the goalkeeping department of the Black Stars.”
