The President of the Ghana Football Association Kwesi Nyantakyi has passionately addressed the media on the start of the Ghana Premier League after several threats of a court injunction by Accra Great Olympics.
The 2017/18 Ghana Premier League was not given a smooth start following the vigorous efforts of Accra Great Olympics to stop the season from taking off with threats of a court injunction.
The Agosu Boys filed for two separate injunctions to stop the league from kicking off but an Accra High Court dismissed their applications on both occasions, given the green light for the league to start.
Despite the dismissal of their application for an interlocutory injunction on the league, the leadership of the Wonder Club kept sending private messages to clubs, with threats of an injunction on the league to scare them from playing league matches.
The clubs, following a directive from the Ghana FA went ahead to honour their league matches and the first round of league matches were successfully honoured.
The Ghana FA President who was away on a FIFA assignment addressed the media on the new trend of events in the league, how his outfit seeks to make the league better and their collaboration with broadcast sponsors StarTimes to ensure a successful coverage of the league.
