Ghana FA president Kwesi Nyantakyi is rallying support for Medeama SC to eliminate Libyan side Al Ittihad Tripoli from the CAF Confederation Cup.

The Ghana FA Cup champions are trailing 1-0 from the first leg and are primed to pull the qualification rag from under the feet of their opponents.

Medeama are making a second appearance in the continent’s second-tier competition after making it to the final qualifying round two years ago.

“We all need to support them so they can win their game, Medeama is currently Ghana’s sole representative in Africa and that am urging them to excel in the competition,” Nyantakyi said in a radio interview.

“I hope they defeat their counterparts come Sunday to advance to the next round of the competition."
