Nyantakyi joins FIFA's Associations Committee

Ghana Football Association President, Kwesi Nyantakyi has been appointed onto a Standing Committee by FIFA.

Nyantakyi joins the 23-member Associations Committee, which shall deal with relations between FIFA and its Members and draw up proposals for optimum cooperation.

The committee shall also monitor the evolution of the Statutes and regulations of FIFA, the Confederations and Members.

This is the GFA President's second appointment onto a FIFA Standing Committee.

Last year, Nyantakyi served on the Organising Committee for the Olympic Football Tournaments.

Two other Ghanaians retained their places. Former internationals Anthony Baffoe and Adjoa Bayor retained their membership on separate Standing Committees.

Former Black Queens captain, Bayor, will still serve as a member of the Organising Committee for the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup.

Baffoe, an ex-Black Star player is a member of the Football Committee which deals with general issues in football but primarily with its structure as well as relations between clubs, Leagues, Members, Confederations and FIFA.
