Ahead of their trip to Seychelles for the maiden edition of beach soccer Nations cup, the Ghana Football Association president, Kwesi Nyantakyi tasked the roaring Black Sharks to defend the colors of Ghana.
The FA boss bid farewell to the Sharks as they look set for their first ever nation’s cup participation.
The FA boss tasked the team to “do well” in Seychelles to leave a lasting legacy in the maiden competition of the first ever CAF organized Beach Soccer Nation’s cup.
“It is a very important tournament and we hope that you will do well in Seychelles. Ghana had a championship in soccer but we haven’t made the necessary strides in beach soccer.
You are the pioneers and we are hoping that you will do us the honor of excelling in the maiden edition of the tournament in Seychelles. On behalf of the Ghana football Association, I wish you good luck in the tournament,” Nyantakyi said at the team’s training center.
The ever smiling FA boss used the opportunity to congratulate the management of the beach soccer team for their good work. “I want to use this opportunity to thank the organizers of beach soccer for the work done. I know that the organization of beach soccer has been done under trying circumstances. You have to bear with the management as they put in efforts to secure the necessary resources to support you participate in the sports. Do not be downhearted at all, but I am very hopeful that there will be a turnaround for you to witness better days ahead,” the FA boss concluded.
Ghana has been paired with Morocco, Senegal and Madagascar in Group B whiles Nigeria, Egypt Ivory Coast and host Seychelles make up group A. the finalist progress to the world beach soccer in Portugal, later in July 2015.
