Nyantakyi welcomes CAF team to GFA office

Ghana Football Association President Kwesi Nyantakyi today welcomed a CAF delegation led by Vice-President Almamy Kabele Camara to the GFA headquarters on a familiarization visit ahead of the African football awards on Friday in Accra.

The GFA President said the visit by the CAF team is a key moment in the collaboration between both sport bodies.

Kwesi Nyantakyi, a CAF Executive Committee member added: "This is a very important visit. It shows the solidarity that exists between us (GFA) and CAF. We appreciate all the support CAF has extended to Ghana football."

Addressing the Executive Committee of the GFA, Kabele Camara, who was accompanied by CAF General Secretary Hicham El Amrani and Director of Finance Heba Bakr, praised the contribution of Ghana towards the development of African football.

“Ghana has a very good sporting and political credentials,” said Mr Kabele.

“Ghana has played a leading role in the development of African football at both club and national team levels. The Black Stars in particular have not only represented Ghana very well, but also the entire African continent.”

The CAF Vice-President also highlighted the individual contribution of Kwesi Nyantakyi since assuming his role on the Executive Committee of the African football governing body.

“Kwesi [Nyantakyi] is a great representative of Ghana football on the CAF Executive Committee. We (CAF) are delighted and lucky to have a person like him in our midst,” the CAF Vice-President added.
