Communications Director for the Uganda Football Federation, Ahmed Hussein has cautioned Ghanaians not to expect Kwesi Nyantakyi to be only Ghana as a member on the FIFA council.

The ace journalist who became the Communications manager for the Uganda Football federation (FUFA) in 2014 congratulated Nyantakyi for being elected unto the FIFA council and also believes Nyantakyi is an experienced football administrator and will be very helpful in formulating better policies for football on the FIFA council.

In an exclusive interview with Kasapa Sports on Saturday, Ahmed Hussein asked Ghanaians to lower their expectations in terms of Ghana as a country stands to gain from Fifa after Kwasi Nyantakyi’s election unto the Fifa Council.

According to him, Nyantakyi will be on the FIFA Council to take decisions which will benefit not only Ghana football, but rather decisions that are going to have positive effect on African football and world football at large.

Of course some people will want to be a bit selfish, they will expect Kwesi (coming from Ghana), to ensure that the Ghana Football Association and for that matter Ghana football enjoy all the good tidings as a result of him being on the Council, but remember when you get to the highest level of running football in the whole world, the whole country that you are coming from, the continent you are representing, and the entire world (the globe) will be looking at you as the Kwesi who is coming to solve the interest of football at the highest level. Of course if for selfish interest I will like to see football develop in Ghana or football develop in my country, but of course I don’t want it to happen at the expense of those who have lifted me to represent their interest, and that is African football.

Ghana FA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi was elected alongside CAF’s vice president Almamy Kabele Camara of Guinea to occupy the two seats available for Africa on the FIFA Council for the next six months.
