Obodai Sai, Walter Kautondokwa ready for war

The wait is now over as Ghana’s Obodai Sai and reigning WBO Africa middleweight champion from Namibia Walter Kautondokwa are ready for battle this Saturday at the Bukom Boxing Arena.

Sai-Kautondokwa clash is been promoted by Lions Promotions and it has been dubbed as ‘Explosive Fight Night.’

Kautondokwa will be defending his WBO Africa middleweight belt against Sai. Also up fro grabs is the vacant IBF Africa middleweight belt.

On Thursday, at the Bukom Boxing Arena, the two boxers had their official weigh-in.

The Namibian was first to step on the scale and he weighed 160Ibs, while Sai weighed the same.

After the weigh-in, Kautondokwa said he is not intimated by Sai’s fans.

“I ready for battle, i’m not intimated by the crowd because the crowd will not enter the ring with Obodai Sai,” he said.



“At the end of the fight i will still be called the WBO Africa middleweight champion, and that means i will be defending my title, no matter what.”

But Sai, who is poised for action has promised to stop Kautondokwa in round six.

“I want Kautondokwa to know that he has come at the wrong time, i will take his title from him,” Sai vowed.

“He will not go beyond round six, i will stop him and that is a promise. I want all the fans to come to the arena in their numbers.”

For the undercard weigh-ins, Raphael Mensah weighed 137Ibs, while Edward Kambasi came in at 135Ibs.

Kpakpo Allotey tipped the scales at 140Ibs as against Tackie’s 139Ibs. The duo will battle each other for the vacant national super lightweight belt.



Patrick Okine weighed 140Ibs, while Michael Ansah came in at 139Ibs.
