Accra, Jan 12 , GNA - Prince Oduro-Mensah, former Member of Parliament for Techiman South will soon be confirmed as the new substantive Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Sports Council (NSC) for the first time in 20 years.
According to reliable formation gathered by the GNA Sports, the only issue that has delayed the assumption and confirmation of the 48-year old former MP is the release of his appointment letter from the Public Service Commission (PSC).
Prince Oduro-Mensah according to the GNA investigations emerged the best out of the five applicants interviewed by the PSC last April. The PSC during the tenure of Albert Agbozo, the immediate past acting Chief Executive Officer of the NSC advertised for prospective candidates to apply for the position.
The appointment of the former MP is therefore a clear departure from the previous scenarios where various heads of the NSC only held the office in acting capacity.
Prnce Oduro-Mensah, a native of Techiman, is a product of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and the Winneba Collage of Education where he pursued a degree and diploma programmes in Social Science and English Education respectively. The former MP, a father of four, appeared overwhelmed about the news when the GNA Sports contacted him.
"I applied, went for the interview and I'm still waiting for the results. I have no idea about what you just said, though I'm very hopeful about my chances", he added.
