Former Black Stars captain, Andre Dede Ayew, has signed for French side Le Havre Athletic Football Club, marking his return for another stint with the club.
In a tweet shared by Le Havre Football Club on X on October 4, 2024, Ayew was holding a jersey with the number 28 on the back while announcing his presence at the club.
“Andre Ayew has just signed a new contract with Ciel & Marine and is joining Didier Digard's squad,” the tweet read.
This is the second time he has joined the club after impressing in his first stint, scoring a number of goals and providing assists to help the club in the French league.
The announcement comes at a time when Andre Ayew’s name was excluded from Coach Otto Addo’s Black Stars squad for the third time as the team prepares to face Sudan in the 2025 African Cup of Nations qualifiers on October 10, 2024.
It was reported that Ayew’s omission was due to the player not playing for a club.
It remains to be seen if he will be called up to the Black Stars after signing for the club.
