Senegal have officially announced the departure of head coach Aliou Cissé whose contract has run out.
In a press statement released on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, the Senegalese federation cited that they will not extend the manager's contract.
"The FSF would like to thank Mr. Aliou CISSE for his good collaboration and his brilliant results at the head of the various national selections that he has had to lead since his arrival in 2011 and wishes him every success for the future," part of the statement reads.
The release confirms an earlier report by Senegalese news outlet Taggat indicating that the manager is no longer the head coach of the team and has already been informed.
Aliou Cissé has been in charge of Senegal since 2015, leading the team to their historic AFCON triumph in 2022.
He also led the Tarenga Lions to two World Cup tournaments and made the round of 16 once.
