Ofosu-Ayeh is coming for Comoros duel

German second-tier Eintracht Braunschweig have confirmed their Ghanaian defender Phil Ofosu-Ayeh has received an invitation for the 2018 World Cup qualifier against Comoros this month.

Black Stars coach Avram Grant has invited the talented 23-year-old for the second time following his impressive debut against Canada in an international friendly last month.

The highly-rated right-back gets another opportunity to stake a claim in the team as his image soars.

“Phil Ofosu-Ayeh gets an invitation to the national team of Ghana,” a statement on the club’s official website read

“The team play two qualifying matches for the WorldCup 2018. The first meeting takes place on Friday November 13 at the Stade Mohammed Cheikh Mitsamiouli against Comoros.

“The return leg will be played at the National Sports Council stadium in Kumasi on November 17.”

He been in stupendous form for the Bundesliga II side where he has made eight appearances for the fifth-placed team after 13 matches.

Ofosu-Ayeh was born to Ghanaian father and a German mother.

He came close to playing for Ghana at the 2011 African Youth Championship in South Africa but delays in the issuance of his Ghanaian passport cost him.
