Okine names Hearts Management team

Accra, Jan 8, GNA - Mr Thomas Okine, Acting Chief Executive of Accra Hearts of Oak has with the approval of the Board of Directors named a ten-member management team to run the affairs of the club for the next three months.

The recomposed team is made up of Mr Francis McCarthy, Managing Director of McBells Company Limited, Mr Steve Akwetey, Social Worker and Hotelier and Isaac Tetteh, Managing Director of TT Brothers, all members of the previous Management Board.

Among the team is Mr Mawell Addo Tax and Management Consultant, also a former management member of the Club.

Among the new faces in the team are Messrs Frank Naro, Barima Atuahene and Steven Kofi Adjei all businessmen.

The rest of the members are Nana Ntiri-Kodua Asabre, a Public Servant, Farouk Al Wahab, an International Sports Consultant and Nana Owusu Agyeman, a Businessman and Traditional Ruler.

A statement signed by Mr Okine copied to the GNA Sports said following the public's expectation over the limited period of tenure and the need to blend experience with fresh blood, there was the need to blend the two and give encouragement all to assume positions of responsibilities within the Club

He therefore urged on all stakeholders within the Club to cooperate and support the Management to make their tenure of office a successful and eventful one.

The recently formed Board of Directors of the Club gave Mr Okine a three-month mandate to serve as the Chief Executive, a position he has held in the past two years.

This is to afford the new Board the needed time to conduct a diligent search for a substantative Chief Executive Officer.
