Okine resumes office as CEO of Hearts

Accra, May 6, GNA - Mr Thomas Okine, former Chief Executive Officer of Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club has said that he has accepted to resume his duties with effect from April 30 in the supreme interest of the Club.

He said he has decided to rescind his earlier decision to vacate the post following the decision of the joint meeting of the Board of Directors and Management of the Club not to accept his earlier arrangement to discontinue with his services as the Chief Executive of the Club.

Mr Okine said in a Press Release copied to the GNA Sports that, "In expressing that vote of confidence in me, and my acceptance to continue, a lot of factors were taken into consideration".

He said there is therefore no gainsaying that his decision to resume to his position has the obvious benefits of bringing about peace, unity and tranquillity.

Mr Okine said in the light of the present circumstances, he has the conviction that Management would step up collaborative efforts with the National Chapter's Committee, supporters and other stakeholders to enable the Club stay focused.

The Chief Executive Officer therefore made a passionate appeal to all Phobians to let bygones be bygones and stay focussed on all positive factors that would unite the Club's following and also facilitate the Club's growth, development and its further march to more glories.

Mr Okine conceded that the Club may be in some of financial crisis but that the '"solution is in our own hands and our resolve to move on is what should be the basis of our re-dedication".
