Okwawu 3 Power FC 1

Nkawkaw, Sept. 11, GNA - Okwawu United recorded a convincing 3-1 victory over visiting Power FC in their GT Premier League match at the Nkawkaw Park to lift themselves out of the relegation zone of the 22nd week fixture.

The "Soccer Mountaineers" who have been struggling at the bottom of the league table for the past weeks ensured their victory over Power FC, with Hearts of Oak rejects Wisdom Abbey and Kwame Antwi working all the magic.

The home team however had to fight back from a goal down scored in 19th minute by Power FC's Nana Yaw.

Then after Abbey went round two defenders before the placing the ball behind keeper Lawrence Quaye in the later stages of the game. Okwawu benefited from two substitutions in the second half as the changes helped them to mount an intense pressure on the visitors that resulted in the second goal for them through Kwame Antwi with 25 meter shot.

As the game progressed towards the end, Abbey again went on target for his side in a goal-mouth melee as his feeble shot found its way into the net for Okwawu's third goal.
