Okwawu United win

A 65th-minute header from substitute Faruk Adamu which was too hot for Bofoakwa's goalkeeper Shaibu Mohammed to handle was all that Okwawu United needed to improve their lot on the league table of the 10th-week GT Premier League played at the Nkawkaw Park. Okwawu were more purposeful from the blast of Asante Mampong-based referee Christiana Tetteh's whistle but erratic shooting up front by the attackers prevented them from taking the lead. They came close to opening the scoring on three occasions in the 15th, 22nd and 35th minutes when Wisdom Abbey, Charles Benson and Azumah Nelson all former players of Accra Hearts of Ok shot off target.

Bofoakwa made three changes in the second half as against two by the home team, but the changes benefited Okwawu who sent a number of incursions into the goal area of their opponents all in a bid to win. The home team's winning margin could have been greater but for some good defending by Bofokwa's veteran defender Abeiku Aikins, Paul Donkor and goalkeeper Shaibu who blocked a number of goal-bound shots.
