Tema (Greater Accra), 19 Jan.,
GHAPOHA played an improved game and halted the winning run of Accra Great Olympics when they beat them 1-0 their match played at Tema. GHAPOHA, who had lost three successive matches, started piling pressure on their opponents from kick-off and earned the first corner-kick in the third minute but wasted it. They nearly found the net in 25th minute when centre forward Dan Turkson was put through but He messed up the chance. GHAPOHA continued their pressure on Oly and deservedly shot into the lead through a spot-kick in the 38th minute when a hard-pressed Olympics defender handled the ball in the box for central defender Richard Nii Noi to convert it. The goal did not dampen the spirit of Olympics who resumed the second session with Greater determination as attackers Godwin Arthur-Tay, Ofosu Peasare and Thomas Otinkorang made several incursions into the vital area of GHAPOHA but they were not lucky to score. Their brightest moment came in the 75th minute but inside left Otinkorang, in good position to put Oly on level terms, wasted it.
