Only Herbert Mensah can rescue Kotoko - Former GFA Boss

Former Ghana FA chairman Lepowura MND Jawula believes former boss Herbert Mensah is the only one who can turn Kotoko’s dwindling fortunes around.

The Ghanaian champions are in turmoil following the recent streak of poor performances this season left them gasping for breath.

The side’s 3-1 defeat to Liberty Professional has aggravated their problems with supporters up in arms with the team’s management and players.

The players were held hostage for close to two hours at the Carl Reindorf park in Dansoman in the wake of the embarrassing defeat to the scientific soccer lads on Sunday.

But former Ghana FA Chairman Lepowura MND Jawula believes celebrated former chief- Herbert Mensah- has the magic wand to turn things around.

“It’s about management. They should swallow their pride and go back for Herbert Mensah. It would turn things around I can assure you because Herbert Mensah will not go for cheap stuff,” he told state-owned Ghana Television.

“He would go for the best players. When you have someone like Opoku Nti, who has been a great player he believes a player can be groomed from nowhere but Kotoko is for stars and the stars will become superstars.”

Mensah is famous in Ghana after he transformed the Porcupine Warriors during his tenure in Kumasi.

He has been credited for sparking a wave of excitements among their teeming fans, shoring up massive professionalism in the running of the biggest club in the country.
