Standard Liege have extended the contract of Ghana international right-back Daniel Opare by three more years. Opare has been one of the star performers for the Belgian club after Reginald Goreux was sold last summer.
“Yes, this extension of my contract was a surprise... but it does not pose a problem for me. I always like the club,” Opare told the club’s official website.
“While I was in Japan with Ghana, I knew that my agent was in Liege, nothing has put me down.”
Opare added: “Of course, if the club wants to continue with me, I'm fine. I really want to continue my career here.”
He joined Liege in 2010 from Real Madrid Castilla and has so far played 65 times scoring one goal.
