Asante Kotoko General Manager Samuel Opoku Nti has attributed his side’s recent feat to hard work.
The Kotoko boyhood player until recently came under fire from the club’s faithful for non performance.
Agitations from some quarters of the Red Army hit roof level for his removal from the top post with names like Sammy Osei Kuffour, Dr Kwaku Frimpong of Champion Divine Clinic fame emerging as probable candidate to take over the club.
However, the team has for some time now moved a notch higher, by way of performance -recording impressive scores in their recent campaigns.
In a spate of less than three months, the red army has clinched three silverwares-Swag Cup, G6 Cup and the Kotoko Anniversary Cup, among other wins.
And explaining what has accounted for the feat, he said “I see what is happening as God rewarding our hard work, I have availed myself for God’s use.”
“Of course one cannot rule out proper planning, we sat back as a team and diagnosed what the problem was and we administered the right dose.”
” I can say we have put our house in order before the big kick off on February 20. As a result, we have lined up another test game against Nigerian side Ubah this Wednesday in Kumasi.”
“And then on Saturday, we have a game against Vision FC at Tema on the Astro turf, you know our first league game is against WAFA and it will be on an Astro turf in Sogakope, hence this plan.”
Last Sunday, Kotoko added Bechem United to their recent victims after posting a 2-0 win over the Kingsley Owusu-Achau men in a friendly at the Baba Yara Stadium.
