Opportunity International Joins Happy FM Lakeside

…For Family Fun Run

As part of its 10th anniversary celebrations, Opportunity International Savings and Loans limited joined Happy FM and the Lakeside Marina to hold their annual Family Fun Run.

The Lakeside Marina/Happy FM Family Fun Run is an annual sporting activity aimed at encouraging exercising and healthy lifestyles among families and individuals in Ghana.

Held on Independence Day, hundreds of participants, comprising families, individuals, and school teams took part in the 6km run. The run, which started around 6:00 am, saw participants run through surrounding areas in Ashaley Botwe, well in time before the rains set in.

According to the CEO of Opportunity International, Kwame Owusu Boateng, “we are excited to be partnering Lakeside Estates and Happy FM on this. Health is very important in our daily lives and as we celebrate our 10th anniversary, it is a great honor for us to join hands and encourage healthy living among our clients and Ghanaians” He congratulated the winners and concluded that several interesting activities will be held to commemorate 10 years of Opportunity International Operations in Ghana under the theme ‘Clients at the Centre of our Business’. Other activities to mark the celebrations include financial literacy programs, deposit mobilization campaign, SME clinics, and an Anniversary Dinner.

Awards and prizes from sponsors were given to winners in different categories. Al Rayaan International School won the prize for fastest school team under 12 years, Ebenezer Mission Academy won the Fastest school team between the ages of 13 to 18. Mr. Salah Kalmoni, Executive Director of the Lakeside Estate was adjudged the Fastest CEO while Edward Boateng, Executive Chairman of Global Media Alliance won the Fastest Father over 50 years award.

The Fastest Family Award was given to the Asamoah Family after beating the Boateng and Kalmoni Families leaving them in 2nd and 3rd positions respectively. Mrs Rose Owusu of Opportunity International won the Fastest Mother over 50 years.
