Orange CHAN 2014 To Close in Fine Style

With just a day to go before the crowning of Africa’s Home Champions, the Local Organising Committee of the Orange African Nations Championship SOUTH AFRICA 2014 in conjunction with the Department of Arts and Culture announced a star studded Orange CHAN 2014 Closing Ceremony Artist Line up to officially close what has been a memorable Orange CHAN 2014.

Once again, African football will gather the country’s musical heavyweights at the iconic 65 000 sitter Cape Town Stadium as the Orange CHAN 2014 officially comes to an end on Saturday, 1 February 2014.

Themed “A Musical Celebration of Africa’s Home Champions” the closing ceremony will start at 15h00 and is set to see a celebration of South African music and dance fused into an African feel to celebrate the unique beauty of Africa.

With the LOC announcing multi-award winning and renowned acts such as Mafikizolo, Professor, Uhuru, Busiswa, DJ Zinhle and Cape Town’s own Reddy D and Chad Saaiman, football and music lovers are set to witness one of the most spectacular endings to a football tournament.

Brimming with confidence of a mind blowing closing ceremony was LOC CEO, Mr Mvuzo Mbebe in his expression of what he described as “A Not To Be Missed Showpiece!”.

“We are now at the last hurdle to a tournament that has by far exceeded all expectations with a thrilling display of world class football and goals. We have always said that CHAN is a tournament that should take its rightful place amongst other major football tournaments and I am sure that we can all agree that CHAN will leave these shores as a different tournament.

In our bid to Celebrating Africa’s Home Champions and living up to our promise of delivering a successful tournament, we have pulled out all the stops to ensure that we secure the country’s very own Champions of music and dance to officially conclude the birth of another African giant.

This is a not to be missed showpiece and we urge football and music fans from all walks of life come out in their numbers and be a part of this epic showpiece,” concluded Mbebe.
