Ex-Black Stars and Ebusua Dwarfs midfielder Emmanuel Osei Kuffour has told PRAVDA SPORTS 93.5 he disagrees with the GFA Disciplinary Committee’s decision to ban the Cape Coast club from its home venue for 12 matches.

The Disciplinary Committee’s decision follows the charge of hooliganism levelled against the club in their Glo Ghana Premier League match day-19 fixture against Aduana Stars at the Robert Mensah Stadium in Cape Coast last month.

Kuffour, a former Dwarfs player, admits the behavior of the fans was unjustifiable but believes the DC was unfair to hand the club a 12 match ban.

“I don’t think this violence is part of the game and they (the fans) are not right. But, at least the (Disciplinary) Committee have to look at this very well, because the ban for twelve matches is unfair,” Kuffour told us.

Ebusua Dwarfs who have also been fined GH¢ 10,000 for their supporters’ assault on referee Patrick Kyeremateng, have only won one match – against the hapless Wassaman United – at the Len Clay Stadium since the FA moved the club’s home games to Obuasi as punishment for the unruly behavior of their fans.

Emmanuel Osei Kuffuor insists playing away from home will affect Dwarfs. “This will be very difficult for Ebusua Dwarfs especially the supporters and the team, because they will be playing home matches away from home,” he lamented.

The former Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko star added: “It is getting to the end of the season and when you are playing home matches away from home, it’s very difficult. This is because the other opponents coming to meet you will feel that they are playing on a neutral ground.”
