Osei Pele eyeing Apolon Limassol move

Unwanted Hearts of Oak striker, Edwin Osei ‘Pele’ is hoping to earn a move to Cyprus by the beginning of the next season, he has exclusively revealed to 90 MINUTES.

The former Phobian favourite hopes to end his Hearts of Oak misery when his agent finally seals the deal with Apollon Limassol, the same club where former Black Stars striker Junior Agogo played barely two seasons ago.

Pele was hailed as the next big thing after impressing as an 18 year old to power Hearts to the pre-season Top 4 trophy two years but was consigned to the sidelines at the beginning of last season.

Though he regularly trained and featured in friendly matches for the Phobians where he always scored, Osei Pele was never called upon for league games necessitating his loan move to Aduana Stars for the second half of the 2011/12 Glo Ghana Premier League campaign.

But still with a year remaining on his Hearts of Oak contract, Osei Pele has returned, apparently, to the Phobians even though the club has yet to contact him, neither has coach C.K. Akunnor.

“I am looking forward to the Cyprus deal big time. They are also keen on signing me but my agent says they are going for their pre-season beginning 22nd July and will confirm the deal when they return,” Osei Pele told 90 MINUTES.

He adds: “So I’m keenly waiting on their date but I expect to hear from Hearts of Oak soon because I’m their player. Even if the Limassol agree to sign me, it’s Hearts they will negotiate with them for my release so definitely we have to talk soon.” Credit:
