Micheal Osei, assistant coach of the national under-23 team, Black Meteors, is not worried about their 3-0 thumping by Kumasi Asante Kotoko, as they remained focused ahead of the U-23 African Championship.

The Black Meteors of Ghana, would take on neighbours, Togo, in a two-legged encounter, in search of qualification to 2019 Africa U-23 Cup of Nations to be staged in Egypt, as well as the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

According to the experienced coach, the inactivity of their players was one of the major cause of their defeat to the Porcupine Warriors, but remained hopeful of putting the team in good shape ahead of the Togo clash.

"We just assembled a week ago and Kotoko had conditioned themselves for a long time, so they should be ahead of us, but nonetheless our boys did well despite the defeat," Osei told GNA Sports.

He added that, some foreign players might be invited to augment the squad, as they look to build a formidable side for the qualifeirs.

"We remained focus despite the inactivity of our players, but we would get some players who playing outside to come and join the team," Osei said.

The Black Meteors are expected to continue preparations at the Ghanaman Soccer Center of Excellence ahead of the double-header.
