Technical Director of the Ghana Football Association Oti Akenteng has revealed endless pressure from his children to quit his post after going under serious criticism over the poor performance of national teams.

Oti who refused to be blamed for the recent poor performance of Ghana’s junior national teams has gone under incessant attacks for the poor output of Ghana’s national teams.

According to the former Ashanti Gold coach, he only advises the coaches but doesn’t enforce them to select players to play for the national team.

“People are insulting me for the failures of the national team coaches meanwhile I am not the coach. I can only give advise base on what I observed,” he said.

Oti’s recent woes started after Ghana failed to pick a ticket for the 2019 U20 World Cup following their poor show at the AFCON in Niger.

But the former national team player’s children feel he must quit the job to save his face.

“My children are asking me stop this GFA work because it is just painful and sad with the kind of backlash I get,” he told Happy FM.

“I only make suggestions to coaches but I don’t force coaches to select players,” he noted.

Oti Akenteng also advised national team coaches to have interest in national football programs.

“Our National team coaches must have interest in our national football programs. They must be interested in our development,” he added.
