Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has confirmed that he has not engaged Nottingham Forest winger Callum Hudson-Odoi over a nationality switch.

Earlier reports claimed that the English-born Ghanaian had agreed to pledge his allegiance to Ghana.

But speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, Otto Addo denied the report, stating that he has not spoken to the player and that it is difficult to talk about the situation.

"It is difficult to talk about the future. I haven’t spoken to him yet," he said.

The manager then indicated that he is focused on the task ahead, which is facing Mali in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

"To be honest, my head is not there at all. I’m fully focused on Mali."

Ghana will face Mali and the Central African Republic in the World Cup qualifiers.

The team will visit Mali on Thursday, June 7, 2024, before hosting the Central African Republic on Monday, June 10, 2024.
