Black Stars coach Otto Addo has received wide commendations on social media for his latest call-up for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
On Thursday, August 29, 2024, Otto Addo announced a 23-man squad for the matches against Angola and Niger in the qualifiers.
Notable omissions from the squad include Abdul Salis Samed, Gideon Mensah, Baba Rahman, Dede Ayew, and Denis Odoi.
Otto Addo also invited the likes of Inaki Williams, Joseph Paintsil, Majeed Ashimeru, and Francis Abu.
Otto Addo received social media praise for the squad, with most people asserting that the call-up reflects the performance of the players.
The omission of Gideon Mensah has been praised by followers of the team who think that the left-back has not been impressive in his recent performances.
Andre Dede Ayew's continued absence has also been noted by the supporters, who have commended Otto Addo for showing courage and decisiveness.
Meanwhile, Otto Addo has provided reasons for the continued absence of Andre Ayew from the team.
"We are looking at the future or the long-term development, that's mainly why we invited younger players and left out AndrΓ© Ayew."
This international break will see π¬π Majeed Ashimeru play under Otto Addo for the first time.
