Our challenges last season are a motivation - Osei

Assistant coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko Micheal Osei has predicted an improved season from his charges after a turbulent 2015 season.

The assistant trainer for the dethroned champions tasked the playing staff to draw motivation from their campaign as they look to regain their lost crowns. The record league champions lost their league title and FA Cup trophies to Ashgold and Medeama SC respectively last season.

Osei, who deputised for David Duncan in the Kotoko camp however believes the painful 2014/15 season will be enough to spur his players on when the new premier league campaign begins.

The assistant trainer for the embattled side believes the hectic schedule by the FA also played a key role in their woeful campaign last season.

“I believe we will perform very well in the coming season because our struggles last season will motivate us. We will be motivated to avoid our last season form when the 2015/16 season kicks off. “We want to play a very beautiful football that will bring results and put the players in the right frame ahead of the season. We are very careful in our preparations ahead of the season as the FA program did not help us last season. We played too many friendly matches as well.” Osei told sports crusader.

The 24 times record league champions regrouped on Tuesday, at Sekondi Takoradi, as they look to fine tune preparation for the impending 2015/16 season.
