Accra Hearts of Oak head coach Edward Odoom has revealed the measures he has taken to help his attackers improve their conversion rate.

Hearts of Oak have been struggling in front of goals since the start of the league campaign.

The Phobians prior to Sunday’s 3-2 win over Bechem United had scored only six goals in nine games. They currently have a record of nine goals in ten games which doesn’t look encouraging for a club with such a pedigree.

Kofi Kordzie is the highest scorer for the Phobians with five goals, followed by Joseph Esso with two goals, Kwadwo Obeng Junior has one to his name whilst Daniel Afriyie is still waiting to find the back of the net.

One constant feature in Hearts matches has to do with players failing to convert the chances that are created. This Coach Odoom has revealed he is assiduously working on finding an antidote.

“Our problem has been scoring and how to take our chances. We create a lot of chances in our games but finishing has been the main problem.

“It’s as a result of that, that I have taken onto my self to begin my training with the strikers an hour before the main training starts. We work a lot on finishing before the main training session. Very soon the strikers will start banging in the goals”.

Hearts of Oak will face Karela United at the Akoon Park on Wednesday in match day 11 of the Ghana Premier League.
