The 2016 Ghana Indomie Junior and Youth Competition ended successfully with Migrants taking the major trophy .
Lifters from Migrants , A1 , Pure joy and Titans were the competitors with support from their various schools.
In attendance was the President of the Ghana Weightlifting Federation (GWF) Mr Ben Nunoo Mensah, Youth and Sports Minister Honorable Nii Lante Vanderpuye ,Deputy Secretary General of National Sports Authority Mr Saka Quaye,and GWF communications director Mr Charlse Osei Asibe.
There were competitions for the Male and Female U-14 , U-17, U-10
Adi Kukovi from Titans was winner for the girls U-14
Christian Amoah U-17 boys from Titans was also crown the winner
Girls U-10 was Anetu Aryee from Migrants
The President of GWF after the program congratulated the participated lifters and promised to support them for both local and international competitions for them to become beneficial to the nation .
The Honorable Minister on behalf of the ministry and the government also made a promise to assist the federation and their sponsors to achieve their goals .
This year’s event was sponsored by Indomie instant nodles,T T Brothers Company and Dr Malt
Seven athlete will be expected to depart for the African Weightlifting Olympic qualifiers that is scheduled to take place on 6 May 2016 in Yaounde, Cameroon.
