Ghana winger Quincy Owusu-Abeyie has sealed a move to Portuguese club Boavista FC on a free transfer, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.
The 28-year-old joins his 9th professional club after mutually terminating his contract with Greek club Panathanaikos last year.
Quincy has since been in search of a new club and was recently lined to a return to England with Championship side Blackpool.
The Ghana international has however sealed a shock move to the Portuguese top flight strugglers and hopes his arrival will serve as a catalyst to turn things around at the club.
“I am delighted to be here and anxious,” he said after sealing the move.
“I hope that we (Boavista) able to take a positive season.”
Boavista are yet to reveal the terms of Quincy’s move – the number of years he signed and the money involved.
