PLB Boss showers praise on Kwesi Appiah

Premier League Board (PLB), Ashford Tetteh Oku has praised Black Stars coach, Kwesi Appiah for the interest shown in the domestic league.

Appiah who was recently named as Ghana coach on a two year renewable deal was present at the El-Wak and Accra Sports stadium where he witnessed MTN/FA cup matches.

Mr. Tetteh Oku speaking to Class Sports after the GFA/PLB announced a four year deal with electronic company, Electroland Ghana – producers of NASCO products opined the presence of the national team coach suggest his love for the development of the game in the country.

“It is very important to have the coach of the national team take a keen interest in the league both the premier and lower division leagues, he said.

“In the past a player joined the senior national team from division two and so if it is that we have a coach who goes round [visit match venues] to observe games it will help.

“Apart from enhancing the level of the league, it will also increase competition among players and the clubs,” he added.

The former Al Khartoum trainer will officially begin his second reign on May 1.
