Ex-Ghana defender John Paintsil will exchange the boots with suits when he retires from the game.

The 34-year-old is currently unattached after leaving South African side Maritzburg United.

The veteran Ghanaian was deemed surplus to requirement as his contract nears expiration.

He has been told to look elsewhere but the former Fulham and West Ham right-back has other plans.

He has revealed he has started a coaching course as he eyes a future on the touchline.

“Yes, it’s true I have enrolled myself into coaching course here in South
Africa,” he told Kumasi-based Angel FM

“I am still studying and at the same time learning a lot of things for the course currently. Right after this season, I will see if I can push myself into the job right away.

"But for the moment; let’s wait and see what the future holds as we depend on God for his mercy of blessings."

Paintsil has 88 international caps with Ghana.
