Pantsil tips Ayew to explode in Brazil

Veteran defender John Pantsil is convinced youngster Jordan Ayew will be Ghana’s poster boy at the 2014 FIFA World Cup finals in Brazil.

Ayew gained global attention after grabbing his first-ever international hat-trick in Ghana’s 4-0 thrashing of South Korea in a pre-World Cup friendly.

Pantsil, who played alongside the 22-year-old at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations, believes the Marseille striker will make a huge impact.

“Jordan is one player who doesn’t really care about the praises or the backlash from the fans,” the former Fulham defender told GHANASoccernet.com

“He keeps to himself and does his job quietly. I believe his talent was meant to be unlocked at a point in time and this world cup could definitely be the stage.

“I am constantly in contact with the team and I have a feeling the unity in camp is deep, whenever the feeling is this way the outcome is always positive.”

Ayew’s hat-trick has seen him now rake in 5 goals for the Black Stars in 13 appearances.
