The maiden edition of the ''Super Body 2018'' Bodybuilding Championship, saw Micheal Parnell, crowned the overall winner in a feisty contest, held at the Bank of Ghana (BOG) Auditorium, University of Ghana.
The former "Arnold Classic" winner outmuscled his counterparts in the Light Heavyweight Division and went on to demonstrate his class in grand finale of the competition.
Bright Holdbrook and Nana Gyan who emerged victors in the middleweight and heavyweight category respectively couldn't outclass Parnell, who was undoubtedly the best athlete on the night.
Speaking to the media after his triumph, Parnell expressed delight after toppling his fellow competitors, but aimed high at winning laurels for Ghana at World Amateur Bodybuilding Association (WABBA) international competitions in the near future.
The men's physique also witnessed a very tight contest, but Daniel Owusu was crowned winner after showcasing the balance of his physique, while Emmanuel Odoi won the silver medal, with Yawson Alex taking home the bronze medal.
The night also witnessed the introduction of "Bikini Fitness", as Ghanaian female athletes also had their turn on the "Super Body 2018" stage.
All athletes in the competition took home prizes, with the winners in various categories sharing a whopping Ghc 10,000 cash prizes.
Winners in respective categories would form the core of national team and will represent Ghana in various international WABBA competitions.
"Super Body 2018", was organised under the auspices of the Ghana WABBA Ghana and WABBA International and sponsored by Ashfoam and Beautiful Beneath.
