Ghana footballer Patrick Enninful says he is prepared to file legal charges against Ghanaian online portals that wrongly reported that he was arrested by immigration officials in Thailand.
The Sa Kaew Football Club striker says he was only quizzed by Thai immigration officials during a VISA renewal process but he was never arrested as carried in separate reports by some websites
It was claimed in the fake story that Officers in Thailand’s North-East acting on orders of immigration chief, Lt-Gen Surachate Hakparn had arrested the Ghanaian footballer over fake visa stamp.
But Enninful explained to Accra-based Atinka FM that he was just taken through the process for stay permit and VISA renewal.
“I just went in for VISA renewal after training and I was asked a few questions and verification after which my documents were renewed,” he told Atinka FM.
“My family is considering bringing legal action against the websites which carried such false reportage because it has just tarnished my reputation for something that’s not true,” he added.
Enninful has previously played for Suratthani FC where he netted 17 goals and Nonthanburi with 11 goals in 2017 and 2016 respectively.
