Board member for Premier league side Accra Hearts of Oak Frank Nelson says that introducing penalty kicks in our league is not a solution to cure our penalty woes as a nation.

According to him, much depends on the players who take the kicks and coaching and not introducing them in our leagues.

"It all depends on what exactly we are looking at I have seen many suggestions about this penalty issues on so many platforms." he told Kumasi based Akoma Fm in an interview.

"But one will ask what brought about all this? Is it because we failed at the U-23 but we should also remember that in 2009 we won a trophy at the U-20 world cup through penalty shoot-out."

"I believe much depend on the players they must get the right motivation for the penalties and know that it can turn your fortunes around within minutes."

"Coaching too is part of it because we lost against Ivory Coast and also against South Africa in Egypt it not only because of hard luck you need focus for penalties."

According to him players are the key proponents when it comes to penalty kicks and they must always be focused on scoring but believes introducing them in our leagues won't change our fortunes.

"I will take on the players because if you know you will take penalties you must know it’s an opportunity to turn the game around."

"Yes it sometimes happen that even bigger players in the world miss penalties"

"It’s always by luck sometimes you need to coach players on penalties."

"Playing penalties in league will not guarantee our national teams succeeding at penalty shoot outs." he said.
