Matthew Anim Cudjoe has set his sights on earning his debut call-up to the Black Stars.

Despite his exploits, the youngster, who has parted ways with Scottish side Dundee United, is yet to earn a call-up to the senior national team.

Cudjoe, who was part of the Black Satellites' team that won the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations in 2021 in Mauritania, is now keen on a call-up to Otto Addo's squad.

According to him, the country will see the real 'Lionel Messi' in him when he earns a call-up.

"I want to play for the Black Stars. It would be a dream. When I was with Asante Kotoko, I always told the media I wanted to play for the national team. I believe it's just a matter of time," Cudjoe said, as reported by 3Sports.

"I believe in myself and know the opportunity will come. It's about hard work, the coach, and my form. I think this year people will see me in the national team, and when they do, they'll see Messi in me.

"I'm a winger but can play as a number 10. When I get the ball, I drive forward and try to make things happen. There's no pressure on me; I just need one opportunity [in the Black Stars], maybe a friendly game," he added.

Matthew Anim Cudjoe is expected to secure a new club before the summer transfer window comes to an end.
