Midfielder David Atanga played the entire duration of the game for Liefering but duo Isaac Vorsah and Lawrence Ati-Zigi were not in the Liefering squad for the game.

CHINA

Ghana skipper Asamoah Gyan beat the race against fitness to play the full 90 minutes for Shanghai SIPG in their 1-1 stalemate with Shanghai Shenhua.

CYPRUS

Midfielder Carlos Ohene was replaced on the 70th minute mark by AEL Limassol who won 2-1 at Doxa in the Division One.

Daniel Opare could not make the Augsburg squad for their 2-2 draw at Darmstadt. The former Standard Liege and FC Porto defender is still without a first team appearance in the Bundesliga since his arrival in the summer.

Youngster Gideon Jung was unused by Hamburg SV who succumbed to a 1-0 away loss against Bayer Leverkusen.

Both Philemon Ofosu-Ayeh and Joseph Baffo were in action for Eintracht Braunschweig when they lost 3-0 against Greuther Furth in the Bundesliga II.

In other games, Davidson Drobo-Ampem was unused by St Pauli who were beaten 4-3 by Paderborn.

Ghanaian trio of Ernest Asante, Kamal Issah and Shadrach Eghan got their season to a false start in the Eliteserien after losing 1-0 at Aalesund. Dutch-born Ghanaian Edwin Gyasi played 65 minutes for the victors.

Kwame Karikari got his Haugesund season to a bright after by scoring the only goal in their win over Sarpsborg in the Norwegian top-flight league on Sunday. Derrick Mensah was unused by the victors.

Mahatma Otoo could not recover from injury to play for Sogndal IF in their 2-0 opening day defeat at Bodo/Glimt but Gilbert Koomson came off the bench to play for the losers.

Mohammed Abu and Nana Boateng both started for Stromsgodset in their 2-2 draw with Brann.

PORTUGAL

Former Liberty Professionals defender Emmanuel Hackmann was introduced in the 89th minute by Boavista who travelled to beat Maritimo 3-0.

Attacker David Accam scored the equalising goal for Chicago Fire in their 1-1 draw with Orlando City in the MLS. Patrick Nyarko was not in the Fire squad for the game.

Gershon Koffie was booked in the first-half and played 88 minutes for New England Revolution who drew 0-0 with DC United. Canadian-born Ghanaian Kofi Opare warmed the United bench.
