Pfag salutes Ghana U-23 for AAG feat

The Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (Pfag) has sent its congratulatory message to the entire Ghana U-23 team for winning gold at the All Africa Games.

The Black Meteors came from a goal down to beat the Amagluglug of South Africa 4-2 on penalties on Saturday to atone for the 1-0 defeat suffered at the hands of the same side when they first met at the group stage.

Be-saddled with numerous challenges including player withdrawals, injuries and organisational difficulties, Akwasi Appiah’s boys braved the storm to clinch the topmost prize at the 10th edition of the games held in Maputo, Mozambique.

The Pfag, of which Appiah is President through its general secretary Tony Baffoe on behalf of the association’s board and members have thus released a statement applauding the team for its momentous achievement.

The statement is as follows:

The entire Board and members of the Pfag would like to congratulate our President who is the Coach of the Black Meteors, the Technical Team and the players for bringing Gold to the land of Gold….Ghana.

You and the team have made Ghana proud .We are extremely happy about the fact that you have proved a lot of people wrong.

This was a masterpiece. We admire your humble approach in doing your things.

May God continue blessing the efforts of you, the technical team and the players.

Well done Akwasi Appiah and The Black Meteors
