Philip Boampong backs Fiamenyo to power Hearts to league crown

Hearts of Oak defender Philip Boampong has hailed the performance of his colleague Gilbert Fiamenyo for his blistering start to the league.

Fiamenyo has hit five goals for the Rainbow club in three games so far this season.

The bulky striker who came under immense pressure following a disappointing campaign last season has hit the ground running this time around.

And Boampong says his form deserves commendation.

“I think it is reward for hard work for Gilbert who has come under attack in recent times for his performance,” Boampong told Accra based Happy FM

“It’s a big relieve for us and we have to pray to God that he continues in this rich vein of form.

Boampong also spoke about the team's inability to defend, which has cost them valuable points in their last two games.

“We are conceding a lot of goals and that is certainly not good, but I am sure we will find solutions to that.

“The goal is to win the league this time around.”
