Players reject new Stars' blue-black jersey

Accra, Feb. 1, GNA - The Black Stars have unanimous rejected the new blue-black Puma-sponsored jersey used in their finals group match against Zimbabwe at this year's African Cup of Nations in Egypt.

The players were compelled to use the surprise colour in the final group D match that they lost 1-2 but no official was ready to explained. The team registered an-all white apparel as its first choice of jersey for the three-week tournament and yellow as its second but was surprisingly seen in blue-black in Tuesday's game.

A Ghana News Agency source in Egypt said however, that the players could not assign a particular reason for the rejection. Some superstitious soccer fans back in Ghana said the colours could play a role in the team's demise.

But the players blamed the technical handlers for lack of imagination to improvise in the absence of some key players.
