Please forgive us - Fatau Dauda

Black Stars goalkeeper Fatau Dauda has asked Ghanaians to forgive the team for failing to annex the 2013 African Nations Cup trophy.

He told Kumasi-based Fox Fm that even though the players went into the competition with the intention of winning it, only God knows what happened.

“We went into the competition with the intention of winning it, but only God know why we couldn’t. I know that Ghanaians are very sad because of this and so I wish to apologise and I ask Ghanaians to forgive us.”

Dauda also asked for renewed support for the team, given that there are other matches coming up for the Black Stars.

“I would also like to ask everyone to continue supporting us because we have a lot of games ahead of us. We will therefore need the backing of all Ghanaians for the task ahead."
