Former Ghana Olympic striker Kwadwo Poku has been released by Danish side FC Midtjylland.
The 21-year-old joined the club from local side King Faisal in 2004 but has been told he has no future at the club.
Poku has failed to settle in Denmark since his move and managed to score only three goals in 27 appearances.
"Poku came to this club with a huge of potential, however, he failed to meet his or our expectation," Midtjylland sports director Jens Orgaard said.
"He has not been successful in making the transition from playing club football in Africa and playing in Europe.
"We have released him so that he can go home to continue his career."
Meanwhile, the striker has been linked with a move to local club Kumasi Asante Kotoko.
He was part of the Ghanaian team that played at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens.
