Polo: Hearts can win the Ghana League

Hearts of Oak coach Mohammed Polo is not ruling out the Phobians from winning the Ghana top-flight this season, despite the huge gap between them and leaders Asante Kotoko.

Nineteen games have been honoured in the 2013-14 season of the First Capital Plus Premier League and with just 11 fixtures to go, the beleaguered trainer believes miracle can still happen to topple the Porcupine Warriors at the summit.

“The season is not over yet, somebody may look at it that way but we don’t think the season is over,” Polo told All Sports Ghana. “It’s possible for us to become champions, anything is possible.”

He added: “I don’t have any problem with Kotoko, they have their own problems and we also have our own problems. Every match with its approach so we will tackle match after match. We can only win one match after another.”

Polo is rallying the Phobians to keep supporting the Rainbow Club in difficult times like this since they can end up in Africa next term.

“They should come to give us the support we need, it’s important. It’s not so bad, if we stay where we are we can still go to Africa. So we have a lot of work to do to build a formidable side that can be able to conquer Africa, not just Ghana,” the ‘Dribbling Magician’ said.

“If we are not getting the league title this year, next year we’ll be ready. I have not even found my rhythm yet because we are not scoring a lot of goals so we are still working hard.”
