Polo: 'I will be very sad if Hearts of Oak is relegated'

Mohammed Polo Mohammed Polo

Former Hearts of Oak player and coach, Mohammed Polo has stated that he will be the saddest person if the Accra giants go on relegation at the end of the current season adding that the Phobia fraternity must rally behind the Board Chairman, Togbe Afede XIV.

The Phobians have not had an impressive season as they currently sit at the 15th position with 32 points, with 4 more games left and a slip in those games will adversely affect their chances of beating the relegation drop.

For the past weeks, Mohammed Polo has been on the throat of the Phobians, criticizing the club due to their poor display in the ongoing First Capital Plus Bank Premier League as the oldest existing club in Ghana is currently facing relegation, but he has called on them to support the current leadership of the club to help them skip relegation.

“May God forbid if Hearts is relegated. I will be the saddest person on earth, I think they need to support the man in charge [Togbe Afede XIV], everybody's hands must be on deck because we have got chairmen and the situation has changed with the floatation of shares and somebody has bought the largest shares what do you do?, you have to support that person,” Polo said in an interview with GTV.

Mohammed Polo was the head coach of the club last season, but his contract was terminated at the end of the season.

Hearts of Oak on Sunday will host Bechem Utd at the Accra sports stadium on match day 27 of the First Capital Plus Bank.
