Power F/C beat Bofoakwa

Koforidua (Eastern Region)

Power F/C beat Bofoakwa Tano by a lone goal at Koforidua.

Hardworking inside right, Maxwell Owusu tapped home James Marquaye's cross from the right flank in the 16th minute.

The homesters dominated the first half but squandered many goal scoring chances due to erratic shooting in front of goal.

In the 66th minute, goalkeeper, Humphrey Amoah of Power was sent off for handling the ball outside the penalty when he rushed out of his posts to save a sticky situation.

As Power F/C had by then exhausted their substitution, centre half, Emmanuel Quarshie had to assume the role of Amoah. Before the resultant freekick could be effected, Ali Babangida of Bofoakwa was also sent off for striking Kwesi Yeboah of Power F/C, who was holding onto the ball to allow his mates to settle down.

From then on, Bofoakwa mounted pressure on the homesters but they failed to beat the player turned goalkeeper till the end.

At Obuasi, local Obuasi Goldfields beat visiting King Faisal 1-0.
