Premier League: Wa All Stars pip Hasaacas

Wa, (U/W) Jan. 6, GNA - Sekondi Hasaacas played a sluggish game to allow Wa All Stars to pin to them to their goal area throughout the first half in their Onetouch Premier league match at the Wa Sports Stadium on Sunday. Hasaacas looked like novice in all departments of the game and should have conceded a dozen of goals if the strikers of All Stars were potent upfront and experienced at shooting at the target.

The first half ended goalless and after the recess, Hasaacas still did not change their game pattern, but they resorted to defending their goal area with the sole aim of drawing with the Wa lads who were rather urged on by their supporters to give them goals. It therefore came as no surprise when a free kick awarded the home side was expertly sent into the 18-yard box to be headed home in the 59th minute by Bright Addae for the only goal of the match. All Stars should have increased the scores in the 78th when they were awarded a penalty but Emmanuel Osei shot straight into the waiting hands of Hasaacas goalkeeper Joe Addo.

The match from then on degenerated into a physical game with the Hasaacas players receiving three yellow cards from Referee Sumaila Ibrahim of Accra in an effort to stamp his authority and bring about discipline in the game till the final whistle.
